Coaching FAQ

You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers.

  • Is career & life coaching right for me?

If you feel like you aren’t where you want to be, coaching can be a good fit. We’ll help you clarify what matters, gain new insights, and set your goals. It’s okay if you don’t know where you want to end up. We’ll figure it out together. We often help people who’re going through life transitions and they need support and accountability.

That said, coaching isn’t for everyone. Some people could use the support of a mental health therapist. If you’re having a hard time coping with your day-to-day life, a therapist would be a better fit.

  • how should i choose a coach?

The best way to know if a life coach is a good fit if to talk to them! Schedule a free consultation to explore your goals, ask some questions, get a sense of the person. Look for someone who lets you feel like you can be yourself. It’s pretty much impossible to open up to someone who makes you feel uncomfortable (although discomfort might come with hard work, but that’s a different animal #truestory).

A good life coach will help you look more deeply into yourself. They’ll “get you.” You can learn more about us by visiting our About Me pages or Instagram or schedule your free coaching discovery call.

  • will a coach tell me what to do?

You are the expert in your own life. We’ll provide you with an outsider’s perspective as well as support and accountability. But you will hold the answers. The answers are already inside of you. We create the environment to help you find them. But no, we won’t tell you what to do.

  • what does a coaching session look like?

We primarily meet with clients via teleconference, which hello - No traffic! No waiting rooms! You can totally be in your pajamas and that’s cool with us. We currently have office space in Denver, so if you’re local, we can meet there too.

During our session, we will often do a check in, celebrate your successes, set some goals, and explore your thoughts and feelings and actions. There will be moments of education, but you’ll mostly learn about yourself.

  • can you be my therapist, if that’s what i need?

We are both mental health therapists, which makes us especially qualified to provide coaching services. But we don’t currently provide counseling services. If you need therapy, we’ll work with you to find someone who can meet your needs. Don’t worry, we’ve got your back.

  • how is coaching different from counseling, mentoring, or consulting?

We’re glad you asked! Here is a chart that best describes it:
